Acy William Wilson, Jr., age 69, of Saraland, Alabama, died unexpectedly in an automobile accident early Monday morning on October 31, 2022. Acy was born November 9, 1952 in Mobile, Alabama to parents Acy William Wilson, Sr. and Annie Louise (Wheat) Wilson. He graduated from University of South Alabama with a B.A. in History and a minor in Political Science. Acy attended Naval Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida and served in the Navy before being initiated into the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 112 in 1976. He spent his entire career devoted to the Brotherhood and even continued working jobs after he officially retired.
Acy was very involved in his community. He was a proud Master Mason with the Howard E. Blackwell Lodge no. 899 in Satsuma, Alabama and a member of the Satsuma Chapter 515 Order of the Eastern Star serving as sentinel. Acy was an active member in multiple faith communities and frequently attended Shiloh Baptist Church and Saraland First Assembly.
Acy was an Eagle Scout and shared his love of it with his grandchildren. He was a fierce Alabama fan and can still be heard yelling “ROLL TIDE”!
Acy is survived by his wife, Rosario Wilson, and his children: Gabriel (Brittny) Wilson with their two daughters (Harper & Olive) and Katie (Ryan) Corrick with their children (Elena, Logan, Brielle, Lucas and Elias) and his grandson Taylor Wilson. A loving grandfather, he will be missed immensely by his grandchildren. Acy leaves behind two brothers: Philip Carey Wilson and James Ronald Wilson.
The memorial service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on November 4, 2022, at 10am at 717 Cleveland Road in Saraland, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Acy’s memory to Boy Scouts of America by visiting donations.scouting.org.
