Alice Leighton Newman

Alice Leighton (Woodall) Newman left this earth on July 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. She lived a long fulfilling life of 96 years. She was a very generous, Godly and loving woman. Today she is walking the streets of gold with our Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful that we know she was a believer and follower of Christ. Mrs. Newman was born in Natchez, MS. She started her family in Magnolia, MS and then moved to continue to raise her family in Pascagoula, MS. Her final years were spent in Saraland, AL. Mrs. Newman is preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Newman, her son Marvin Newman, her mother, her father, and twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Claudette Newman, two sons Hilton Lamar (Marie) and James Roy (Inez), a daughter Pat Wahl, seven grandchildren Angie Irvin, Troy Newman, Hope Goff, Michael Newman, Jamie Pruitt, Jessica Lewis, John Wahl, and Danny Wahl, fourteen great grandchildren, two siblings Doris Pezant, and M J Newman. Mrs. Newman will be laid to rest on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, August 3, 2015 at 12:00 and service will begin at 1:00 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.
