My earliest memory of Barbara (my cousin) took place in the street between her house and my grandmother’s house. I wasn’t more than about 5 or 6, so she couldn’t have been but a couple of years older. She laughingly said something about my “stringy hair” & when she saw that I got my feelings hurt, she offered to brush it for me, which she did. She was a kind person with a wicked sense of humor.
