Bessie Gordan Andrews

Mrs. Bessie Gordan Andrews - left this world on Saturday, May 12, 2012 to reside in her heavenly home for eternity. She was born in Culloka, Texas and spent her early years in Florida. She came to Alabama when she was married in 1936 and in 1947 moved to Chickasaw with her family. She was a member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church, The Woman's Club of Chickasaw and a member of John B. Shearer, Chapter #517 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice B. "Andy" Andrews; one granddaughter, Sandra Lynn Andrews; one grandson, Anthony M. "Tony" Andrews; and one great-granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Redding Andrews.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia A. Gantt (Bill), Saraland, AL; three sons, James F. Andrews, Chickasaw, AL, John G. Andrews (Jackie), Axis, AL, and William B. Andrews, Sr. (Henri Jean Andrews), Saraland, AL; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank E. Gordan (Rena), Opp, AL; and one sister-in-law, Claire Dickerson, Fairhope, AL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chickasaw United Methodist Church, Chickasaw, AL or John B. Shearer Chapter #517, OES, Chickasaw, AL 36611.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Saraland, AL.
