Bessie Grey Dixon Sheffield – beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, a 77 year-old native of Grove Hill, AL and a resident of Saraland passed away January 2, 2011. She was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Sheffield is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frazier D. Sheffield; children, Allan Sheffield (Debbie) and Kathy Sheffield Sweeney; brother, Freddie Dixon (Laverne); sisters, Martha Kelly, Earline Duke (Grady), and Bonnie Prewitt; grandchildren, Amber Sheffield Wilson (David) and Jon Miller (Tiffany); great-grandson, Zane Wilson; beloved niece who was like her own daughter, Rev. Dana Handley; brothers and sisters-in-law, many other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour.
