Betty Gornowicz

Betty Ruth (Jernigan) Gornowicz, 82 departed this life surrounded by her loved ones May 16, 2025. She was born August 17,1942 in Mobile, AL. Betty attended Vigor High School, where she met her husband of 32 years and was a stay-at-home Mom until her husband passed away. At that time she went to work for Clean-Rite, Inc., for 15 years and retired in 2010.

Betty loved to travel, cruising was her favorite. She was a member of the Mobile Mystical Ladies Mardi Gras Organization for 7 years, and on a bowling league. Betty’s talent was cooking and she was good at it. She enjoyed cooking for her family and for special family gatherings.

Betty is preceded in death by her 2 children: Deborah Ann Williams and Albert Ray Hogancamp Jr., her parents Cecil and Amelia Jernigan, brother Charlie Robert Jernigan, and brother-in-law Sammy Granade.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years Leo Franklin Gornowicz, 2 sisters, Sue Granade, Linda (Eddie) Summers, and sister-in-law Sandra (Wayne) Ryals. Grandchildren: Peyton (Bobby) Huckabee, Michael (Samantha) Willams, Brittany Hogancamp, Christopher (Katelyn) Howell. Great Grand Children: Asher Howell, Edith Howell, Kylie Andrews, Paisley Baxter, Keegan Huckabee, Raelynn Huckabee, Lainey Huckabee, Avery Williams, John Williams, Nova Williams.

Step- Sons: Henry (Molly) Gornowicz, and Jeff (Shae) Gornowicz. Grandchildren: Michael (Kaylee) Gornowicz, Zander Gornowicz, Zackery Gornowicz, Great Grand Children: Colson Gornowicz, and a host of other family and friends.

There will be a Memorial honoring Betty at the home of Linda Summers located at 42795 Hwy. 225 Bay Minette, AL. June 8, 2025 from 2:00-4:00. Mrs. Ellen Lesley will officiate.
