
Betty Sue Skelton - a native of Riderwood/Butler, AL and a resident of Mobile County for 62 years, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at her home of 51 years. Mrs. Skelton was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church since 1961 where she ministered to others and was known as a prayer warrior. She exemplified being the heart of her family as a Godly wife and mother, a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful sister. She enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening, sewing and cooking. She married the love of her life, the late J. T. Skelton, on November 17, 1944. The legacy they both leave is that their children are all born again Christians and the successes they have achieved are a result of how they were raised by their parents.
Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by her parents, John Horace and Ida Mae Bryant Rouse and six of her seven siblings.
She is survived by three children, Diane (Robert) Moore, Tim (Penny) Skelton of Mobile, AL and Debra (Philip) Dozier of Dothan, AL; one brother, Edward Ray (Annie B.) Rouse; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Claudine Littlepage; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Indian Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Skelton will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
