Betty Lee Smith Vendrick, age 87, went to be with the Lord on April 22 in Mobile, Alabama. Betty is reunited with her husband, Bill, her parents, William E. and Mary Lee Smith, and many loving family members.
Betty began playing the piano in her church when she was only nine-years-old. She became a sought-after piano teacher by hundreds of students in the Mobile area.
She genuinely loved people and people loved her. She had a natural gift of hospitality.
Most of all, she loved the Lord and prayed fervently for her family and friends. You would often hear her worshipping in her home to her favorite hymns and choruses.
She adored her husband, Bill, and their daughters Kim and Kay.
Betty is survived by her daughters Kim and Jack Lee of Saraland, Kay and Neil Kennedy of Tulsa, Oklahoma. And her grandchildren: Jack and Heather Lee, Jennifer and Jason Smith, Alex and Aric Schauer, Whitney and Shane Starnes, Chase and Arielle Kennedy, Courtney and Jordan Weston, and Jonathan Lee; and 15 great-grandchildren.
