Bobby Jess Christian

Bobby Jess “Buck” Christian passed away on the morning of Saturday, September 23, 2017, in Mobile, AL. Born in Howell Community, MS, Buck raised his family in Saraland, AL, where he was a resident for over 60 years and a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Throughout his life, Buck enjoyed raising beagles for rabbit hunting, traveling the country with his wife and friends in his camper, and gardening on his land in MS. No matter where he might find himself, Buck never met a stranger.

Buck is survived by his three children, Bobby (Sally) Christian of Rutledge, AL, Sheila (Rodney) Smith of Saraland, AL, and Chris (Carmen) Christian of Satsuma, AL; his six grandchildren, Doug Christian, Lee Christian, Jason Smith, Tiffany Tomko, Caleb Christian, and Cody Christian; his eleven great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Wayne (Kay) Christian, Sheree (Jeff) Rogers, and Marie (Bobby) Dunaway. He is predeceased by his wife, Willie Pierce Christian, father, Robert Wilson Christian, mother, Adele Edwards Christian, and sister, June Christian Casey.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Howell Baptist Church in Lucedale, MS.
