Bobby G. “Red Dog” Willingham – a native of Philadelphia, MS and a lifelong resident of Mobile County passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 surrounded by his family at home after a four year battle with cancer. Through the years he had been an avid hunter and fisherman, and had numerous fish camps and houseboats on the Mobile River Delta. He enjoyed football and baseball and took great pride in watching his children and three grandsons grow up with a love for the game. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Louise Perkins Willingham and his youngest son, Randall Wayne Willingham. He is survived by his daughter, Ren (Skip) Best; son, Phil Willingham, both of Dauphin Island; three grandsons, Eric (Lauralee) Best of Ellsworth, ME, Phillip (Morgan) Willingham of Baton Rouge, LA and Skipper (December Lea) Best of Albany, GA; five great-grandchildren, Grace Anne and Gavin Best of Ellsworth, ME, Wyatt Samuel and Lily Gail Willingham of Baton Rouge, LA, and Capt. Best, IV of Albany, GA. He is also survived by a very special and compassionate friend who is loved by all, Mary Parnell, along with numerous other family members and friends. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, May 21, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
