Carolyn Fay Lusk Mothershed

Carolyn Fay Lusk Mothershed, age 83, a native of Piedmont, AL and a longtime resident of Chickasaw, Alabama, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, March 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church for over 65 years where she was church secretary for many of those years. She was a graduate of Murphy High School, class of 1948. She was predeceased by the greatest of love of her life, her husband of 61 years, Ernest R. Mothershed. She is survived by two loving and devoted daughters, Becky M. McDonald (Jimmy) of Daphne, AL and Janet M. Holsombeck (Buck) of Saraland, AL. She was a devoted and loving grandmother known as Nana by four grandchildren, Christopher M. East, Los Angeles, CA, Courtney R. East, Auburn, AL, Jessica H. Sanderson (Steven), Saraland, AL, and J. Tyler Holsombeck (Brandy Hoffman), Mobile, AL.; four precious great-grandchildren, Bradley Miles and Aaren Christopher East, Marietta, GA and Aubreigh Faith and Abigail Elizabeth Sanderson, Saraland, AL. and a new great-granddaughter Adilynn Rae Holsombeck due in June. She is survived by and cherished her one loving and faithful sister Beatrice L. Risher. She was a loving and sweet aunt to a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to share a special thanks to all her Chickasaw Baptist Church friends; Atria Regency Assisted Living friends and staff where she recently moved in November, especially devoted caregivers Deborah and Theretha. A special thanks also, two wonderful ICU nurses of Providence Hospital 5th floor who were very caring in her final days, Ameerah Carson and Maggie Concepciun.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 10:00 to 12:00 and a service to follow at 12:00 noon at Chickasaw First Baptist Church, 92 5th Street, Chickasaw, AL, 36611. Interment is to follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
