Charles Janes, Sr.

Our real, live Hercules, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and protector, Charles Janes, Sr., went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born to Enoch and Mahallie Janes, who are also joined in Heaven by his grandson, Mitchell Lee Janes, sisters Dorothy Smith and Patricia Courtright, and brother, Billy Ray Janes.

Left here with a treasure trove of fond memories and love are his wife, Mary “Fennie” Janes, sons Charles Jr., Terry, and David, daughters-in-law, Jackie and Tammy, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Chuck, Summer, Bentley, Addisyn, Presley, and Charlotte. Also missing his presence are his brother, Roy Wayne Janes, and sisters, Essie Turner and Vera Pounds. He was also uncle to a host of many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Also left to reminisce his memory are many devoted life-long friends. In his later years, he was blessed by best friends, David and Laurie Bruhl, who looked after him and gave him the gift of their time.

The family would also like to thank Vital Care Healthcare for the best care imaginable. We especially thank Lisa, Stephanie, Shelby, Shelly, Nancy, Nicky, and Angela. Deep gratitude also is owed to Dr. Mark McDaniel and Dr. W. Dale Hardy.

Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, June 15, from 12 - 2, with service following at Radney's. Interment will be at Creola Cemetery immediately afterwards.
