Mr. Charlie Linton Parker, Sr. - a native of Moss Point, MS and a longtime resident of Saraland, AL died Saturday, August 11, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. Parker proudly served his country in the South Pacific during World War II with the 174th Army Engineers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ava McLarty Parker and one son, William David Parker, Sr.
He is survived by three children, Kathy (Franklin) Elmore; Charlie (Jan) Parker, Jr., and Flakey (Brenda) Parker; one sister, Dorothy (Howard) Brown; nine grandchildren, Frankie (Curtis) Mathis, Tonie (Steve) Cochran, Greg Parker, Brian (Tiffany) Parker, Sarah (Garret) Roebuck, David Parker, Farra Parker, Sam Parker, and Sydney Parker; thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 and from 10 A.M. until 12 Noon on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
