Clifton “Buck” Westfaul, resident of Satsuma, Alabama, passed away Monday October 4, 2021. Buck was preceded in death by his parents: Ollie and Elmer Westfaul, daughter, Denise Freeman, and sister, Joan Simison. He is survived by his wife, Frances Pruett Westfaul, daughter, Summerlyn Gwin, grandson, Rook Gwin, granddaughter, Valerie (Brandon) Davis, great granddaughters: Laila Davis and Cady Jane Davis, sisters, Nita (Jimmy) Elliott, and Marty George, various cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was a friend to everyone and would go out of his way to tell someone what they meant to him. Buck was a talented welder by trade and an avid golfer by choice. He played many courses but Gulf Pines and Azalea city were his favorites. Many wonderful life long friends were made through his golfing adventures. He grew up on the water and enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing and just being near it. He spent the latter years of his life meeting his friends down at the creek to “shoot the bull” and fellowship. He passed on his love of the water to his daughter, Summerlyn and grandson, Rook, who affectionately called him Pop. His love affair with his wife lasted 39 wonderful years and though there weren’t enough years, there was more than enough love. His life of 83 years was lived to the fullest and his legacy has left an indelible mark on those who loved him. He was a saved Christian and we find peace knowing he’s playing golf on the most beautiful courses and enjoying the most peaceful creeks. His presence will be greatly missed, but he is forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank SouthernCare Hospice Services for taking such good care of him and of us through this heartbreaking time. We would also like to thank Dr. West, Dr. Crenshaw, Dr. Eyrich, Dr. Lutz, Dr. Meshad, and Dr. McIntyre.
Due to Covid, a memorial service will be held at a later time for friends and family.
