Darlene was a faithful member of Fountain of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Creola, Al. She loved her family and would help anyone who needed it. She always had the best stories and advice to give you. Darlene enjoyed Alabama football and watched every game. She had a love for movies and her all-time favorite is Gone with The Wind and could watch westerns all day. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking. Her family was the focus of her life, and she loved to host family gathering and have her entire family over. She will always be remembered for her warm and loving personality.
During her career, she retired from the Mobile County Road and Bridge Department after 16 years as an office assistant and served as the court clerk for the city of Creola for seven years and the city of Saraland for two years.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Matthew and Louise Tatum Leaird; first husband of 16 years, Montree Lee Dickinson, Jr.; second husband of 25 years, Robert Earl “Bobby” Adcock; and son, Robert Earl “Robbie” Leaird.
She is survived by her son, Lee (Peggy) Dickinson; grandchildren, Charlie Harrison, Abigayel "Leanne" Campbell, Kathleen "Katie" Fables , Devin Dickinson, Drew Byrd, and Landon Dickinson; siblings, Rita Lowman, Audrey (Willie) Smith, Carol (Roy) Haskew, Sharon (Gary) Bayles , Charles (Virginia) Leaird, and Carlson Leaird; special cousins, who were like sisters, Karla Riley and Kayla Beesley; nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff members of St. Joseph Hospice for all of their care and support.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery in Deer Park, Alabama at 2:30 p.m.
