Dawn Sawyer Cooper, born February 21, 1965, was the second of three children born to Wendell and Sandy Sawyer. On Friday, May 31st, 2019 Dawn left her Earthly home to return to her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her father, Wendell Sawyer.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother Sandy Sawyer; two sons Jacob (Holly) Cooper and Cameron (Lauren) Cooper; four grandchildren Alleigh, Caleb, Leo, and Quinn; and two brothers Del (Lee) Sawyer and John (Tracy) Sawyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles.

Dawn graduated from Davidson High School with the Class of '83, before continuing her work with the family business at Sawyer Furniture. There, she relished meeting new people and building relationships with customers and coworkers for over 20 years. She was active in her church as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and missionary and sought to be of service to the Lord and others in any way she could. To her sons, she was a loving mother who taught them the value of integrity and compassion by more than words.

With an open heart and open home, she welcomed many and gave selflessly. She spent her life sharing joy with the people she met and insisted on seeing the best in everyone. She was an artist and adventurer and she spread her passion with others to learn new things, see new places, and be creative. Her memory will live on with her friends and family every time they show forgiveness, visit a beach, or see a piece of driftwood and think, "what could I do with that?"

A visitation for Dawn will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Redemption Church, 1251 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, AL 36571. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. A burial will occur at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama 36619.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.RadneyFuneralHome-Saraland.com for the Cooper family.

Our precious Dawn was suppose to be here in Tanzania for this Mission, but instead she took an eternal trip to see our Lord in Heaven. Dawn Sawyer Cooper and Sandy Sawyer her mom were 2 of the first here in Tanzania to sleep in a tent together with us. This was the beginning of our ministry, MedReach, and going to schools to set up Medical Clinics. We will greatly miss Dawn but we know she was ready to meet Jesus in her eternal home. Thanks be to God for the impact that she has had on us earthly beings. Truly she is with others in Heaven that she shared Jesus with in the USA, Uganda and Tanzania.

I already miss this sweet friend and her smile and kind encouraging words. Some things that happen are shocking but the comfort is she is worshiping and celebrating with her savior. We will see our friend again on that day she was looking forward to..

I work in an office that was a couple doors down from Sawyer in Saraland. I was able to get to know Dawn thru those years and she was always the kindest , funniest person you would every want to meet. It saddens me to hear of her life ending so soon. My prayers go out to her family.

Such a beautiful beautiful lady inside & out!!
Dawn & I went to school together for several years she was an amazing friend. She helped me plan my wedding to happen the year after we graduated high school & was one of my bridesmaids! We had so much fun. Last time we spoke she raved over her precious boys & grandchildren! Just know she was so proud of y’all.
I am so very sorry & you all will be in my thoughts & prayers.
Life is way to short & precious!

I always loved your sweet and kind soul. I felt honored for you to be in my wedding on Las Vegas. I still have plenty of pictures that I look at often and I am more thankful than ever that I took every picture of you that I could. This really seems like a dream, my sleep has been disturbed since you left just waking at odd hours and you on my mind. I loved you dearly and so thankful that you was apart of my life for s period. Prayers for your family on their time of loss. Heaven had truly gained a beautiful angel!
