Donald D Greene

A longtime resident of Saraland, Don was a deacon and an active member of Bayou Sara Baptist Church. Besides his church and family, his passions included politics, aviation and the outdoors. He served on the Mobile County Republican Executive Committee, was a licensed pilot, and enjoyed running, canoeing, sailing, camping and photography. Don long served in the Alabama National Guard and served actively during the Berlin Crisis. He received his education at Vigor High School, Livingston State College and the University of Mobile. He retired from Courtaulds after 35 years.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Eunice Greene, and siblings Eunice Hollamon, John Greene Jr. and Thomas Greene. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Jeanette Greene; daughters Karen Payne (Rob) and Teri Greene; grandsons Nathan Payne (Chelsea) and Will Payne; great-granddaughter Avery Payne, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at Bayou Sara Baptist Church Wednesday, June 19, at 3:30 with visitation beginning at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the debt-retirement of Bayou Sara B.C. or your favorite charity.
