Donna invited me to her Powder Springs home to watch a seasonal match-up between The Tide & LSU...at Tiger Stadium. I do not recall the year, but "intense" falls short in describing the game atmosphere. It was a 4 quarter defensive battle...bless her Crimson heart.
Donna expanded my world...not only on the gridiron...but also in the sharing of stories....Bible Stories, her stories from Kenya and Venezuela, and stories of life lived among you- her much beloved family. Stories told with a smile and a sparkle in her eyes.
I am grateful.

I was so blessed and thankful to have Donna as one of my best friends. What fun we had visiting, traveling,  sharing meals, and worshipping together. She was a friend you could always count on to get a job done. She was a friend you could always count on for wise advice. She was a friend that would always support you and never judge. She was a friend to share  laughter and tears with. I love her dearly and will miss her until we meet again.  
Praying for comfort and peace for all of us that loved her.

I will always remember our long trip to take you to the airport. I was worried that you were going to preach to me because you were in Bible college. You didn’t and you really encouraged me. What a special lady. 

I remember Donna as a friend and my mentor, though she was younger than I.  She was my example and encourager to serve others in the loving way she did.  Her smile lighted up every room.  On a mission trip to Louisiana, we ate at a restaurant in Lafayette, where I ordered half a dozen shrimp.  They arrived, to my dismay, straight from the sea complete with eyes and feelers.  After a few feeble attempts to "conquer" them, Donna sighed and said "give it to me."  A few snaps and rips later, the shrimp finally looked edible.  She had once again lovingly helped one in need. Aunt Donna will be greatly missed by many. She was such a sweet soul. I knew she was always there for my family no matter what. She will always remain in my heart.🥰

The last service Donna and I did together at Leaf Church where we were raised.  The wedding of my son James and his wife Kelly.  Will miss you Donna.

If I had known it was time to say good-bye, I would have reminded you how much you are loved as an aunt, sister, teacher, pastor and friend to many, and how dear your friendship has been to me.  I would have thanked you for your kindness and thoughtfulness, for the times you listened but did not judge, for all you taught me about life and the grace extended to us all through Jesus, for the love and support you gave to my children.  I would have recalled the memories we made on our travels both near and far, the fun times and special fellowship of the Sisterhood, the hours and hours of laughter and meals shared.  Missing you and grieving for all of us left on this side of Heaven, but comforted knowing you are face to face with Jesus.  Until we meet again dearest Donna, love, Mary

Donna was such a sweetheart. She knew we loved pralines ,so when she made her next batch she called me and said she had some for me. Best pralines ever. Donna will be missed.

Our first apartment, 1970, with Barbara Ann in Mobile, Alabama. We all worked at Mobile Infirmary. You and Barbara worked 3-11. I worked day shift. I stayed up late to pick y'all up and you got up early to take me to work. What fun we had. I love you, Sister and I will miss you. But I will just join you in Jesus. 

My husband Gary and I met Donna when she served at McEachern. We became good buddies when we learned she loved Bama football as much as we do. She was our pastor but also a great friend. I can’t think of a time that she didn’t have that beautiful smile on her face. We’ll miss her but know for sure she’s having some great talks with Jesus. 

Dear  ‘ dear family ‘ of Donna,

My husband and I had the pleasure of having a friendship with Donna.  She was more of a friend than a pastor.  Donna worked hard, was a humble servant to many, and a true blessing for all of us at McEachern United Methodist Church.  I served on the missions committee with Donna.  Donna must have “ danced her way into HEAVEN”!!  Blessings to all of the family.  She is already missed.

Our  years of friendship with Donna are priceless memories that we will carry until we see her again.  We loved her as a friend, pastor and Sister in Christ.   There is no one that was more fun than Donna !  We will miss her forever  !

Dear Family of  Donna.    Donna and I went to Asbury Seminary together!  She was such an amazing friend.  She helped me so much with the Greek language!  And then when she became a missionary, we communicated back and forth all those years.  I am also a missionary, so we had much in common.  Then when she went to McEachern, I saw her maybe once a year at their missions conference.    I loved Donna.  I called her DJ.    Know I am praying for you all as you grieve and miss her.  I can tell you from our earliest meeting in seminary, she adored her family!  You all were her priority.  I'm sure you already know, but want to say how much she loved you!!!
