Doris Jean Jones Wilkins

Doris Jean Jones Wilkins born November 18, 1937, in McDavid, Florida, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ Friday, June 9, 2023. Waiting to greet her was her precious husband Billy Wilkins and loving parents Clifford and Sibaloe Jones.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Michael) Smith and son Darryl (Kim) Wilkins plus the joys of her life, her grandchildren: Kendall (Erica) Smith, Collin (Stephanie Phillip, fiancée) Smith, Carlee (Jeremy) Knox, Kelsey (Derrick) Moyes, Kacie Smith, Emma Claire, and Braeden Wilkins; and her great grandchildren, Britton, Bentley, Josie and Billy Smith. She is also survived by her brothers, DeVon (Barbara) Jones, Bobby (Jonnie) Jones, and Glenn (Becky) Jones, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Doris retired from the University of Mobile after 30 years of service, volunteered at Victory Health Partners and through her church as long as God allowed. She was a long-time former member of First Baptist Church of Satsuma and moved to Mobile to serve her Lord during her last years at West Mobile Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held from West Mobile Baptist Church on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please send donations to either First Baptist Church of Satsuma, West Mobile Baptist Church, or St. Jude Children Hospital.
