Dorothy "Dot" Kirkham, native of Hot Springs, Arkansas and longtime resident of Saraland, AL, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. She was born January 10, 1930 to parents Merle and Nellie Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hillery Kirkham and sons Dennis and Dale Kirkham. She was a house wife and mother of four children.
Mrs. Kirkham is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Potts (Charles Edward) of Greenway, Arkansas and son David Kirkham (Tammy) of Saraland, Alabama. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Wesley Potts (Leesa) of Keller, Texas, Emily Hemann (James) of Piggott, Arkansas, Kathryn Kirkham of Decatur, Alabama, Dakota Perkins (Chadley) of Madison, Alabama and great-grandchildren; Hattie and Abigail Hemann and James Bryant Dykes.
Dot was an active member of Bayou Sara Baptist Church. She dedicated her time to the Lord through her work at the Mission of Hope, the Church food bank, the benevolence committee and many other religious organizations. She loved traveling and made several mission trips providing bible schools. She was talented at sewing, crocheting and was an avid reader. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork, painting and the outdoors. She loved her family and friends and always put others first. She lived the Golden Rule and was always grateful. She is lovingly known to all her friends as "Granny".
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Saraland, Al beginning at 2:00 p.m.
