Edna E. Walters – A native of Florida and a resident of Eight Mile, AL died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in a local health care facility. She retired from International Paper Company after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Ethel Polk; husband, Oyd L. Walters; son, Paul Walters; sister, Ladare Calhoun; and son-in-law, Frank Shirey. She is survived by five children, Rev. Mike (Burma) Walters, Elizabeth Dunn, Julia Shirey, Lamarr (Theresa) Walters and Shirley Walters; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. prior to services.
