Edward Earl Black, age 76, of Axis, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. Edward was born August 31, 1944 in Preston, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, and an extraordinary “Paw Paw.”
Edward was born on August 31, 1944 in Preston, Mississippi to John and Virgie Black. Edward was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a faithful believer of Christ, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Satsuma. He was also a member of the Delta Men’s singing group for many years. Mr. Black was the owner of Black’s Auto Repair in Satsuma, AL.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Virgie; his sister Mary Ann Lowe; and his brother, Willard Black. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Joyce, his daughter Stacy (Scott) and grandson Will Moody, sisters; Roma Little (Charles-deceased), Patsy Ivy (Wayne), Lou Lowe (Willie), Judy Wilcox (Paul), brothers; Bill Black, Johnny Black (Darlene), and Danny Black (Donna). Survivors include many nieces and nephews as well as friends and family.
A “very” special mention to Alison Holland, Nurse Practitioner at Digestive Health Services of Mobile. Mrs. Holland was the family’s “Angel Here on Earth,” during Mr. Black’s stay at Springhill Hospital. The family would also like to thank the dedicated nursing staff and doctors in the ICU.
Visitation for Edward will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Satsuma Cemetery.
