Mr. Edward Allen Hicks, age 70, passed away at a local nursing facility on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Columbus Matthew and Fannie Mae Hicks and stepfather Xerxes Lucas. Allen was a knowledgeable man on numerous subjects and loved conversing with everyone. He especially enjoyed talking about Alabama football and politics. Allen is survived by his sister, Frances Ruth Hicks, brother, Herbert Lamar Hicks and his wife, Patsy , special friend, Gwyn Turner and other family members. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, AL on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Chapel services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Edgar Cemetery in Silas, AL at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneral home-saraland.com.
