Edward Ray Rouse – a 92 year old native of Riderwood, AL and longtime resident of Saraland passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. Mr. Rouse was a veteran of World War II and retired from civil service after 26 years as a pipefitter at Brookley Air Force Base and Pensacola Naval Air Station. He was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Mr. Rouse was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ida Rouse; brothers, Horace Rouse, Jr. and Robert Rouse; sisters, Pauline Mills, Juanita Allen, and Betty Sue Skelton; and great-grandson, Austin Mathis. He is survived by his beloved devoted wife of 72 years, Annie B. Rouse; daughter, Joan James; sons, Michael Rouse (Linda) and Anthony Rouse (Lisa); grandchildren, Christy Mathis, Carissa Rouse, Cherie Fine, Steven James (Amy Jo), Brandon Rouse, and Alicia Rouse; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour.
