Elaine H. Rodgers – A native of Newton County, MS and a longtime resident of the Prichard and Eight Mile area died Monday, January 9, 2012 at home. She was a longtime member of the First United Church of Prichard before moving to Eight Mile United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Bill” Rodgers; and daughter, Ruth Renee’ Rodgers West. Survivors include two sons, William “Joe” (Helen) Rodgers, Fairhope, AL and Andrew Paul Rodgers, Eight Mile, AL; eight grandchildren; one great- grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Timothy, Campbell, Jacob, Ellis Paul and Blakely Rodgers, and Jason West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
