Ernest Roy Mothershed – 83, departed this life on December 25, 2012. He retired from the Alabama State Docks Grain Elevator as General Manager. Longtime member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church and the PACE class of Moorer YMCA. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; daughters, Becky (Jim) McDonald of Daphne, AL, and Janet (James) Holsombeck of Saraland, AL; four grandchildren, Chris East of Los Angeles, CA and Courtney East of Daphne, AL; Jessica H. Sanderson and Tyler Holsombeck of Saraland, AL; four great-grandchildren, Bradley and Aaren East and Aubreigh and Abigail Sanderson; host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from Chickasaw First Baptist Church on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 12 p.m. Visitation began at 11:00 a.m. prior to services. Interment was in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family request donations be made to the PACE class of Moorer YMCA.
