Our Father called Sister Ethel Deloris Echols from labor to reward on Friday, February 11, 2022. She was born to Mary Etta Montgomery on March 14, 1931, she grew up in Whistler, Alabama around loving family and friends.
As she became school aged, she studied at Whistler Elementary School and went on to Central High School where she graduated with her high school diploma.
Her early years were spent at Third Baptist Church and Pilgrim Rest A M E Zion Church. She was a soft-spoken wonderful person. After graduation she set out to look for employment in New York City, where she was employed for over 40 years before returning to Whistler. While in New York City she worked for Tom Mc Cann shoes as a floor supervisor.
Deloris leaves to mourn her passing two children: a loving daughter, Linda Gail Young of Whistler, AL and a son, Rickey Darnell Young of St. Paul, MN. Grandchildren deceased grandson, Edwin k. Burrell, Tanshea Madyun of Mobile, Micah Young of Houston, TX and Colby Young of St. Petersburg, FL. Caregiver and granddaughter, Fredericka Burrell of Whistler, AL. Eleven great-grands of Minneapolis, MN. One great-great grandson Giovonni Burrell.
Many close, friends four devoted Cleo Spencer, Jean Nash, Mary Thelma Ayler, and Henry Jordan and many, many, other loving and devoted friends.
A visitation for Ethel will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Ethel will be laid to rest on the grounds of Whistler Citizens Cemetery, 800 Dudley Ave, Whistler, Alabama.
