Mr. Francis E. “Buddy” Gilbert, age 74, a native of Whistler, Alabama and a longtime resident of Satsuma, Alabama died on Friday, January 10, 2014. He retired from International Paper Company after 43 years retiring as a Process Manager, member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and a member of the Howard E. Blackwell Lodge # 899 F & AM Masonic Lodge in Satsuma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin “Red” and Janie Gilbert. He is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Gilbert; son, Mark (Mary) Gilbert; granddaughter Stephanie Gilbert; sister, Jeanette Platt, many special friends and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home – Saraland. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
