George Daniel Vernon, born June 20,1937 was called home to Jesus on January 20, 2021. Mr. Vernon was a member of the National Guard and retired from U.O.P after 34 years of service. Upon retiring he turned his hobby into a business and created Big Daddy's Tractor Service. He genuinely enjoyed helping others. He was the most selfless, gentle soul and would do anything for anyone. He loved hunting with his friends and family and watching Alabama football. He was an amazing man, and he will be missed terribly.
Mr. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Bernice Vernon and his brothers Glen Vernon and Ronald Vernon. Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 40 years Monicah; sons Tony (Edyth) Makin and Kenneth (Lynn) Montiel; daughters Kimberly (Bubba) Carter; Sheri Monk and Angie Ryals. Sister Pam Vernon. 12 grandchildren; Trevor, Trenton, Sean, Seth, Baylee, Logan, Berklee, Bria, Miranda, Mallory, Blake, and Jasmine. 13 great grandchildren. Also, a special brother-in-law he adored Mr. Ira Lewis.
Services will be held on Monday, January 25, from 4-5:30 at Redemption Church in Saraland, Al. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
