Jerry retired after 29 years with the Mobile County School System as a Driver’s Education Teacher and had been a successful Financial Advisor for over 40 years. He was a family man, who was known as the “caregiver” to all. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His greatest joy was his family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and devoted Alabama Football fan. “He loved family, football and food!” Jerry was an individual who never met a stranger and always went the extra mile to make sure everyone was cared for. His personality was contagious…and he was loved dearly.
He was a life- longtime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Freeman Williams, and their children; James Brian Williams (Rhonda), Ashleigh Michelle Walters and Ryan Christopher Williams (Anna). He is also survived by his siblings; Charles Williams (Maria), Linda Tanner, Bob Williams (Marsha), Ella Darnell (Larry), David P. Williams (Beverly), Gregory Williams (Marsha), sister-in-law Pat and brother-in-law Bob Kostelecky six grandchildren; Brittney Threadgill (Adam), Sara Kate Williams, Sadie Williams, Baylen Beck, Ashton Walters, Chance Walters and great-grandchild, Laken Threadgill along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saraland, AL.
