Gertie Smith Smith Adams

Gertie Smith Adams, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012, she was born on January 3, 1922 in Thomasville, Alabama. Mrs. Adams was a resident of Satsuma, Alabama, and a member of Fountain of Life Church and retired from International Paper Company, Bag Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. (Shim) Adams; mother, Cora Cassidy Smith; father, Willie Smith; stepmother, Sally Smith; brothers, Clifford Smith, Roy Smith, Leonard Smith and Edward Smith; twin sisters, Karen & Mary Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Jimmy) Morris, Minnie (Don) Hamilton, Margaret (Leon) Gilmer; seven grandchildren, Joey Ludke, David (Kim) Hamilton, Paul(Charlene) Hamilton, William (Irene) Hamilton, Mary Jane Wooten, Melisa (Richard) Ware, Chris (Nicole) Gilmer; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters, Clara V. Smith, Winnie (Billy) Anderson; brothers, Willie (Catherine) Smith, Lamar (Sue) Smith; sister-in-law, Jo Smith and Verlie Antonidis. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 12 noon from Fountain of Life Church. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL.
