Mrs. Hilda Eugenia (Stringer) McCulley, 88, passed away at her home in Mount Vernon, Alabama on Friday, February 22, 2019. She was born in Carriere, Mississippi on January 31, 1931 to Clifford Roosevelt and Fannie Inez Stringer.
Hilda was raised in the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, and also raised all of her children in the same church. The last church she attended was Fountain of Life Church in Saraland. Hilda retired as a nurse's aide from Searcy Hospital in Mount Vernon after many years of dedicated service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Fannie Inez Brandt, Carl Ronnie Stringer, Joe Ray Stringer, William Marshall Stringer, and George Clifford Stringer, Jr.; sons: Melvin Lee Coleman, Jr. and Charles Ray Coleman, daughter, Connie Coleman Roberts and granddaughter, Ashley Denise Parker. She is survived by children: Margaret (Gaylon) Adams, Gene (Teresa) Coleman, Barbara Charlene Coleman, Donna Coleman Gunter, and Sandra Coleman Martin; 17 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCulley will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home-Saraland, 1200 Industrial Pkwy., Saraland, Alabama with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday morning. Interment will immediately follow services in Mount Vernon Community Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Alabama.
