Howard Branch Smith

his home at the age of 86. Howard was born on August 7, 1934, in the Oak Grove community where he

lived his entire life.

He retired from Kimberly Clark after 30 years of service. Howard was a partner in the family business, Smith's Christmas Tree Farm, for 27 years. He was a member of Celeste Road Baptist Church. Howard was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 66 years and the Scottish Rite Freemasonry for 64 years. He was a lifelong member of Bowen Masonic Lodge #240 and more recently Howard E. Blackwell Lodge #899. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Reynolds and Purler Smith, and two brothers, Harry R.Smith, and Reynolds R. Smith, Jr.

Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Connie Saffen Smith, his son Howard B. Smith, Jr. (Emma),

daughter Geneva Ann McWain (Kenny), five grandchildren, Jamie Dykes (James), Leigh Ann Havens

(Nathan), Judson McWain (Kristy), Ashley Munday (Michael), and Leslie Ann McWain, three

great-grandsons, Maddox "Pasquale" Dykes, Davis "Pollywog" Dykes, and Branch "Bullwinkle" Wilson,

sister, Catherine Davis, brother, Rodney K. Smith, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at Smith Family Cemetery on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00a.m. 10163 Kali Oka Road, Eight Mile, Alabama 36613.
