Jackie (Jack) Dale Gatlin, 72 was born July 7, 1948 in Shubuta, Mississippi to the late Grey Doc and Ethel Covington Gatlin and was called home March 25, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. Jack served this grateful nation by enlisting in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. For 30 plus years Jack was a dedicated conductor for the Railroad. He enjoyed wood-working, fishing, spending time with family and friends. Jack loved watching football in his spare time and indulging in Debbie cakes and ice cream.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Donald Wayne Gatlin, Gerald Grey Gatlin and one sister; Abby Carolyn Davies.
Left to cherish Jacks wonderful memories will be his beloved wife; Susan Elizabeth Biggs Gatlin, one daughter; Casey Ann Gatlin Tarantino (Tim), two sons: Marcus Lynn Gatlin (Chrissy), Stephen Allen Gatlin Sr. (Jamie), thirteen grandchildren: Kristen Looney (Justin), Kamryn Taylor, Kayley Taylor, Stephen Gatlin Jr., Hannah Gatlin, Kimberly Gatlin, Brantly Gatlin, Jacob Gatlin, Isabella Tarantino, Bryceson Tarantino, Nick Tarantino, Jalyn Gatlin, one great-granddaughter; Sophia Taylor along with extended family members and many wonderful friends.
Honoring Jack as pallbearers will be Kamryn Taylor, Jacob Scott, Kyle White, TJ George, Kevin Duffey, Richie Nell, Keith Smith and Tony Rogers.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards the nurses of the COVID Unit and Medical ICU at Mobile Infirmary Hospital for the care and compassion extended to Jack.
