Born to Harold Dewayne Culbreth and Mary Frances Culbreth.
Ron was a native of Dothan, Alabama, attended Dothan High School, and moved to Mobile to attend college. He was currently a resident of Satsuma, Alabama.
He attended college at the University of South Alabama where he received a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Art. He became a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor. He was the Director of Rehabilitation Services at Searcy Hospital (1974-1999) and retired from Searcy Hospital. He wrote and published numerous articles on Rehabilitative Services.
He continued to enjoy researching after retirement. He researched many topics for the family and found great deals on items and vehicles. Ron was devoted to family and loved the family gathering, whether at the farm with Mike, his brother, or at home with close friends and family.
He was a wonderful father and grandfather, “pawpaw” to not only the kids but to many of their friends. He was eager to teach and give life lessons and “philosophize” about his outlook on life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Culbreth, sister, Mary Dewayne Floyd and wife, Betty Harris Culbreth.
He is survived by his brother, Mike Culbreth (Denese), brother-in-law, Jimmy Floyd; daughters, Kimberly Culbreth Eblen, Kendra Murray Strenth, Dana Dunn (Richard); son, Jeffrey Scott Murray (Tyler); nieces, Brooke Culbreth, Amanda Bynum and nephew Eddie Bynum; Grandchildren, Harry and Hannah Eblen, Joshua Dunn, John Strenth IV, Jeffrey Scott Murray II, Tricia Murray Evans (Terrance), Jessica Strenth, Jordan Dunn, and Joseph Dunn. Numerous cousins and friends, including a special friend, Patsy Adams.
A memorial service will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers donations, Ron wanted donations made to the Satsuma Little Chapel at Steele Creek.
