Janice Lomax Whatley – 85, born May 14, 1940, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Jack and Barbara Lomax, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passing surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Mobile.
Janice loved attending First Baptist Satsuma, volunteering at Mobile Infirmary, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a humble, faithful servant of Christ and touched many lives through her Christian service.
Janice was preceded in death by her parent; brothers, Doug Lomax and Jerry Lomax; and sister, Julie Lomax Jemison. Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her beloved daughter, Karen Lynn Whatley, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all our family, friends, neighbors, our church family, and Pastor Brent Rawson for the care, love, prayers, and support during our great time of need.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at First Baptist Church Satsuma, 5600 Old Hwy. 43, Satsuma, Alabama 36572, from 11 a.m. until the service hour. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 p.m. with Bro. Brent Rawson officiating.
