Jessie Kelly, born on September 3, 1926, entered eternal rest on January 10, 2026. A proud Poarch Creek Tribal Citizen, Jessie held the special honor of being the oldest living member of the Poarch Creek Band of Indians at the time of her passing—a testament to her strength, resilience, and the rich history she carried within her.
Jessie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Kelly; her parents, Thomas and Fannie English; her sisters, Evelyn Spence, Aline Weaver, and Ola Quinley; her brother, Willie English; and her step-sons, David Kelly and Robert Kelly.
She is survived by her loving sister, Amy Arthur of Gladwin, Michigan, as well as numerous cherished nieces and nephews who were blessed by her guidance, wisdom, and love.
Jessie was a woman of many interests and a joyful spirit. She especially loved dancing, tending to her beautiful flowers, and caring for her beloved pet cats. Those who knew Jessie knew they were in the presence of someone special—someone honest, warm, and wonderfully outspoken. You never had to guess what Jessie was thinking; she shared her thoughts freely and with heart, and that was part of what made her so memorable.
Jessie’s life was rich with stories, laughter, and meaningful connections. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her legacy of strength, truth, and love will never be forgotten.
