Jimmie Lee Grant Smith – a 91 year-old native of Pelahatchie, MS and resident of Chickasaw passed away at her home on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Mrs. Smith retired from Brookley Air Force Base after many years of service as a purchasing agent. She was a longtime member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Franklin Smith; brother, Walter Grant, Jr.; and sister, Marietta Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Bullock; brother, George Grant; granddaughters, Ashley Jones (Randy), Kelly Dennis, and Tina Tomlinson (John); great-grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Caroline), Melissa Jones, Evan Tomlinson, Chelsey Tomlinson, and Chancelor Tomlinson; devoted friend, Nathan “Nate” Davenport; other relatives and friends.
