John LeRoy Beaver

John served proudly for better than 21 years in the Air Force including tours in Vietnam, Greenland, England, Okinawa, and many more places. John was honored with The Meritorious Service Medal for Meritorious Service from 1980 to 1982. He retired from the Air Force as a Master Sargent. His time in the Air Force was his greatest memories and he was awarded too many awards to list! After retirement he was a longtime member of the American Legion where he served many titles including but not limited to Commander, National Chaplin where he prayed in our nation’s Capital on the Senate floor and was Veteran of the year 2007-2008 then served for many years after. In 2003 John was proclaimed REPUBLICAN OF THE YEAR.

John is survived by his wife, Belinda (Dees) Beaver, one daughter Janice Box,, sisters Linda (Beaver) Pierce, Eilene (Beaver) Maxwell and Norena (Beaver) Baker. He leaves behind two stepsons, Marion Thompson Dees, III (Crystal) and Mason Tyler Dees (Shallon) and two Grandchildren which John adored, Gracie Lane Dees and Brock Mason Dees; also many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service for John Beaver will be held on February 6, 2026 in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527 at 1300 (1pm).
