
John Milton Giordano, Jr., M.D. – a native of Jackson, MS and resident of Eight-Mile, AL died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Ashbury Manor in Mobile. He was 84. Dr. Giordano was retired from the United States Army. He was a graduate of the first 4 year medical school class from the University of Mississippi. He practiced medicine in Jackson, MS, Mobile and Eight-Mile, AL. Upon retirement from private practice, Dr. Giordano worked for and retired from Searcy Hospital. Dr. Giordano was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, The Holly Society of America, The Magnolia Society, and The Azalea Society. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, and hybridizing plants. Dr. Giordano was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Giordano; his son, John Milton Giordano, III; daughter-in-law, Cindy Giordano; and grandsons, Wayne Giordano and John Milton Giordano, IV. He is survived by his wife, Melba Green Giordano; children, Diane (Raymond) Terrell, Charles Martin (Sandra) Giordano, and Yvonne Durden; step-children, Donna Platt, Cathy (Patrick) Creel, and Sandra Marques; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Mauvilla Cemetery on Kali Oka Road on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 300 Grant Street, Chickasaw, AL 36611.
