John Irvin Gray Jr., age 63, of Saraland, Alabama passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday, June 4, 2022. John was born on Friday, October 24, 1958 in Mobile, Alabama to the late John Irvin Gray, Sr. and Clozell Luker Gray. John was a man of God and loved serving as a Deacon for the Kushla-Bethany Baptist Church in Eight Mile, Alabama. He always enjoyed fellowship with church family and was always "Johnny on the spot" to assist with anything the church needed. John worked for the Mobile County Health Department spraying for mosquitoes. He worked with the City of Saraland as an Animal Control Officer for many years. John would take off to the water in his spare time for fishing and simply enjoying the great outdoors. He never took for granted the special moments of spending time with his family. John took exceptional care of his wife through the years and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Left to cherish John's wonderful memories will be his beloved wife, Sarah Hare Gray; one son, Johnathan Gray and wife Danielle; three grandchildren: Dakota, DJ, and Fisher; along with many extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
A visitation for John will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571.
Interment will immediately follow in the Therrell Annex of Whistler Cemetery, Whistler, Alabama.
Honoring John as pallbearers will be John Green, Dakota TIms, Trey Tims, Clayton Hare, Ronny McRae, and John Gilchrist.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Tommy, Janice, Clayton, Beverly, and Pastor Tim for really being here during their great time of need. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and assistance during this time. Thank you to Belle Bouquet for the beautiful floral arrangements.
