John Thomas Walley, Sr, of Saraland, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. John was born July 30, 1947, in Richton, Mississippi, to the late Reverend Marion L. Walley and the late June E. Walley.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Marion L. Walley, Jr. John is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Margie T. Walley of Saraland; his children: Lainey Middleton (Bart) of Gulf Shores, Tommy Walley (Mindy) of Satsuma, and Robin Cameron (Clark) of Birmingham; his grandchildren: Taylor Smith (Colby) of Gulf Shores, Morgan Walley of Satsuma, Brenna Middleton of Gulf Shores, John Thomas Walley, III of Satsuma, Sara Grace Cameron of Birmingham, Davis Cameron of Birmingham, and Alex Cameron of Birmingham; and his brother, George Walley of Mobile.
He attended Vigor High School and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp. John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Alabama football fan. He was a longtime insurance sales professional in and around Mobile, Alabama. He was a dedicated Christian, a longtime Sunday School teacher, and a faithful member of Bayou Sara Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland, Alabama, with Brother Shawn Major and Reverend Dennis Dunn serving as officiants. Pallbearers will be Bart Middleton, Clark Cameron, Colby Smith, John Thomas Walley, III, Davis Cameron & Alex Cameron.
