She graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School in Semmes, Alabama where she played the flute in the band, was a majorette and excelled in how to socialize! She was very outgoing, friendly, kind and definitely opinionated.
She also graduated from Atlanta College of Medical and Dental Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. She had a career as a medical technologist in local hospitals and several physician practices...making many lifelong friends along the way.
Karen loved God, her family and friends, Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves, Car Racing, Bowling, Mardi Gras and ALL animals. She reigned as queen of the Athena Mardi Gras Association in 1997-1998.
She was a grandmother figure to her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews...actually to all children she encountered over her life span. She always had a smile and would strike up a conversation with total strangers without any hesitation.
The true "Life of the Party" but with a heart of gold and a kind spirit always. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Those who wish to honor her memory may rescue a stray animal, donate to a charity or simply help someone in need.
