Keele McClure “Smitty” Smith, Sr., age 92, passed peacefully from this earth at his home, into the loving arms of his Lord, on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Keele proudly served his country in World War II as an Army Infantryman, landing on the beaches of Normandy, France during the D-Day invasion of June 6, 1944. He was a devoted and loving husband to wife Delores Marlene Smith of 60 years and father to Keele (Penni) Smith and Keela M. Smith and a beloved grandfather to his most precious grandchildren; Keele “McClure” and Melanie Smith. He also leaves behind to cherish his life several nieces and nephews and close friends. Keele was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife, Delores Marlene “Chick” Smith, by his beloved infant son, Michael Allan “Mickey” Smith, his parents Allen Fletcher and Sarah Elizabeth Smith, his brothers, Alva James (Alda) Smith, Ralph Everett (Kathy) Smith, Robert G. Smith, Harold Chester “Shorty” Smith, Glenn Smith, and sisters, Mary Alice Metheny, Genevieve Deloris Lewis, Faye S. Headrick, Hazel E. Smith. The visitation will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL with Rev. Diane Baldwin officiating. In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice.
