Kenneth Willard Wear Jr.

Kenneth Willard Wear, Jr, a native of Mobile, AL, and resident of Coden, AL, died Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born in 1965, he was predeceased by his father, Kenneth W. Wear, Sr. Ken is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marcia Milburn Wear, children, Ashley Jasmine Wear, Melissa Catherine Wear, and Kenneth Willard Wear, III, mother, Jackie Crawford Wear, sisters, Cynthia Wear Baggarley (Buddy) and Deborah Wear Taylor (Tommy), sisters-in-law Linda Smith (Brad), Sue Modica and Steph Dickinson (Roger), brothers-in-law Craig Milburn and Doug Milburn (Katie), numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Jet.

Ken was a 1983 graduate of UMS Preparatory School and a 1988 graduate of the University of Alabama.

Ken achieved the rank of Captain during his time in the United States Army Reserve. His deployments included both Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. His career began in the maritime industry and culminated in education, serving as the LOTC instructor for North Mobile County Middle School.

Ken was a member of St. Philip Neri Parish, VFW Post 250, and Knights of Columbus Council 17040.

Ken’s earliest passion was swimming. He was a scholarship swimmer at the University of Alabama and a Hall of Fame inductee at UMS-Wright Preparatory School and the City of Mobile Swim Association. Other passions included sailing, boating, cooking, travel, Alabama football, and Jimmy Buffett.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff in the SICU at Mobile Infirmary.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 2nd, starting at 9:30 am followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 am at St. Philip Neri Parish Catholic Church, 9101 Dauphin Island Parkway, Theodore, Alabama, 36582.
