

Kevin Yancey Rice, born May 12, 1984, passed away on March 26, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was 41 years old. Kevin spent his life in the Saraland community, where he built deep roots and lifelong friendships. He had a larger-than-life personality and a natural ability to connect with people. Kevin could strike up a conversation with anyone and seemed to know a little bit about everything. Whether it was sharing stories, offering advice, listening, or simply making people laugh, he had a way of making others feel welcome. More than anything, Kevin loved his family. He was a devoted husband and a proud father who found his greatest joy in the lives of his children. His presence, encouragement, and love will remain a lasting part of who they are.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Alexis Rice; his children, Collin Rice (Faith), Christian Rice, and Avery Rice; his parents, Slayton & Charlotte Rice; his mother, Nancy Hunt; his brothers, Slayton Rice III (Elizabeth), Warren Steelman (Ashley), and Randy Hollingsworth; his sister, Tabby Hayes (Shane); his grandmother, Juanita Bell; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Leah Rice.
Kevin had many passions in life. He loved sports, enjoyed time on the golf course, and especially loved cooking for family and friends. Some of the best memories shared with Kevin happened around a table, a grill, or during a game, where his laughter and personality filled the room.
Kevin leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and unforgettable memories. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but those who knew and loved him will carry his spirit with them always.
Funeral service will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 led by Pastor Wayne Sheppard. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Collin Rice, Christian Rice, Slayton Rice III, Warren Steelman, Shane Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Brandon Biggs, and Brian Smith. Honorary pallbearer: Slayton Rice Sr.
Kevin will be remembered for the joy he brought into a room, the love he gave his family, and the friendships he carried throughout his life. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
