Laura Catherine Holloway Christenberry was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2019. She was a resident of Chickasaw and a member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church for over 70 years. Mrs. Christenberry was retired from Mobile Infirmary after 30 years as a surgical nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cecil Christenberry, Sr. Mrs. Christenberry is survived by three children, Cecile C. Sparks (Steve), Elaine C. Walton (Ferrell), and Cecil Christenberry, Jr. (Linda); nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Katherine Evans and Skipper Kemp. Funeral service will be held from Chickasaw United Methodist Church on Monday, July 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery on Tuesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chickasaw United Methodist Church Building Fund, 108 Lee St., Chickasaw, AL 36611.
