Laura Pope Rush

Mrs. Laura Pope Rush, age 101, native of Clark County and longtime resident of Chickasaw, AL passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gaston S. Rush, daughter Gloria Rush Turner, grandson Derric Rush, her parents and nine siblings.

Laura was a lifelong member of the Church of God faith. She will be remembered by her friends and family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Rush Mills (Allen W.) of Saraland and son Larry S. Rush of Prattville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Gaston Mills (Allison), Sundee Rush O'Mary(Ben), Peggy Bender Rush(wife of Derric), great-grandchildren, Sydney Mills, Connor Gaston Mills (Victoria), Dashton Bender Rush, Briella O'Mary, great-great granddaughter Amellia Mills and her sister Mary Crownover and brothers John Pope (Jenny) and Joe Pope. She will also be missed by her three special friends Barbara Buckhalter, Lori Abston and Meme Foster and hospice nurses Lana Lang and Doreen Currie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel immediately following visitation. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
