Lela Smith Gregg

Mrs. Lela Smith Gregg, age 96, a longtime resident of Mobile and later Saraland, AL, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Oscar Gregg, parents John W. and Mollie B. Smith, siblings, Herman Smith, John Rusty Smith, Walter L. Smith, Faye Jones Phillips and Alfred Jones. Mrs. Gregg was a beautician for over 50 years and a longtime member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church. Her family will remember her love of gardening especially her African violets and her love of family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Gregg is survived by her children, Barbara Griffin (Ralph), Dennis Gregg (Judy) of Saraland, AL, grandchildren, Janice Nassar (Richard) of Mobile, AL, Kenny Griffin (Evelyn) of Jefferson City, TN, Cheryl Moore (John) of Axis, AL, Stanley Griffin (Frances) of Saraland, AL Beth Sealy (Don) of Turnerville, AL, Melissa Norris (Dameon) of Creola, Al and Cynthia Cofer (Michael) of Saraland AL. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until service time of 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Celeste Road, Saraland, AL.
