Leon (Googie) Eugene Ellison, Sr., age 81, a lifelong resident of Creola, Alabama, departed his earthly life on Monday, April 4, 2016, at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gracie June Ellison who has been waiting to be reunited with her soulmate so they can continue their journey together in the afterlife. He is survived by his son, Leon (Denise) Ellison, Jr. of Theodore, AL; his daughter, Brenda Ellison of Creola, AL; one grandson, P02 Christopher (Heather) Ellison, USCG, of Natchez, Ms.; one sister, Ada Dorothy Danzey of Creola, AL and many, many, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the Oak Grove Chapel at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, with Rev. Ellen Lesley officiating. Interment will be at Creola Cemetery on Hwy 43 in Creola.
